Tournament arcs within anime are incredibly popular, and Naruto's Chūnin Exams arc still holds up as not only one of the fan-favorite arcs in the series as a whole but also one of the best tournament arcs to date.

It was a filler/canon arc to show the CE during the timeskip. So why not allow Boruto and co a second CE. This one would also go on without a hitch, where it focuses on survival and 1 on 1 matches (again, cuz we love those).
